Question: Why is synthetic motor oil better than conventional motor oil?
A quick story: A long time ago, I had a 1967 Dodge Coronet 500 which I liked very much and drove for many years. One particular day, I noticed that the engine oil pressure dropped to zero and I had to park the car until I figured out why the engine lost oil pressure. Long story short, the many years of using conventional motor oil caused a build-up of sludge in the bottom of the oil pan, which in turn, clogged the oil pump pickup screen to where oil could no longer circulate through the engine. Kinda like a heart attack for cars. Had synthetic motor oil been available back then, I wouldn't have had to endure the massive headache involved with replacing an oil pump on a 1967 Dodge Coronet.
